Saturday mornings, diners, and alcohol tastings

Happy Saturday!

I don’t know about anybody else, but this past week flew by for me. I’m really glad it’s Saturday and I didn’t have to set a 6:15 AM alarm to wake up. Saturdays are meant for deep cleaning and breakfast as diners. Fortunately, I live in New Jersey and there is definitely no shortage of diners nearby. I’m surprised New Jersey isn’t known as the Diner State and not the Garden State. How many gardens do you see in NJ? Answer: A lot less than diners, that’s for sure!

Wedding planning is going full-steam ahead! Today, we have our alcohol tasting with our bartender! M and I decided that we would have open beer and wine and two to three specialty cocktails at our cocktail hour/reception. Our bartender, Aaron from 13th Street Cocktails, offered to have us at his farm and taste test some of his recipes. Who would turn down a complementary tasting of alcohol in the name of research?! I’m really excited about today and hope to report back with our drink selections.

Tomorrow, we’re visiting some of our bakery choices to set up an appointment for cake tasting. This is the part I’ve been looking forward to the most- not wedding dress shopping (from walking into the store to walking out, it only took me 2 hours to find a dress plus all of my accessories), not looking at wedding bands (although that was really fun and we get to go back to buy them soon!), not registering for gifts, but the cake. M says that the cake is his one thing, which means that he’s making most of the choices about the cake. Say what you want, but my one thing is lace table runners and guess what we’re having? Exactly.

New Jersey bar results still have not been released, yet. I took the exam a little over a month ago, so I’m starting to get a little antsy. It’s hard to start a job search when I’m not sure which state to focus on. Do I only look in PA for now, then expand to NJ when I get my passing results? Do I look in both? As of now, I’m looking in both states and focusing on New Jersey. I haven’t gotten any interviews yet so I don’t have to worry about declining an interview and having to explain that I haven’t passed.

Overall, this will be a very productive weekend for me! I’m looking forward to writing more about my upcoming wedding and job search in future posts, so keep a look out!

PS: If anybody has any recommendations for hair and makeup artists in the Greater Philly/South Jersey area, please comment with their name!

This little clerk has a snow day!

This is me. I’m playing in the snow.

This little clerk has a day off from work! Woohoooooo! Unfortunately, because being an adult means that adult responsibilities are always present, here’s a list of all the things I have to do today:

  1. Finish the work that I brought home yesterday.
  2. Find three firms that I’m interested in applying to.
  3. Apply to those three firms.
  4. Save photos of flowers for my bouquet.
  5. Save photos of cake for cakespiration.
  6. Make some homemade meatballs and homemade tomato sauce.
  7. Take a nap.
  8. Do some laundry.
  9. Netflix it up.

Anybody else have a snow day today? How are you handling this blizzardy weather?
